Ultrasone scoops Bavarian Export Award
Headphones “Made in Bavaria”, successful throughout the world – Ultrasone AG, headphone specialist from Tutzing, Germany is awarded the Bavarian Export Award 2010 in the “Industry” category.
The Export Award is presented by the Bavarian Association for International Economic Relations to internationally successful Bavarian companies. With awards in 5 categories, it is intended to showcase the particular innovation of medium-sized companies. This year, the winner of the “Industry” category was Ultrasone AG; the Tutzing headphone specialists who sell their multi-award-winning headphones, targeted at hifi enthusiasts and professional users, in over 50 countries.
Tutzing, 3 November 2010 – Products carrying the brand “Made in Germany” are respected throughout the world and, year on year, help reaffirm Germany’s status as one of the most successful export countries. This is also true of high quality products in the consumer electronics sector. Since it was founded in 1991, Ultrasone, the headphone specialist from Tutzing, has placed great importance on high quality, sustainably manufactured products for export. The high-end Edition range in particular enjoys great popularity abroad. Success that has not gone unnoticed – in 2007 Ultrasone was awarded the very first Bavarian Export Award in the “Industry” category. “Our motivation behind the Bavarian Export Award is to honour the specific successes of Bavarian companies in opening up new markets abroad, particularly in such difficult economic conditions, and moreover, to encourage other companies to successfully exploit the opportunities available in the international marketplace” said Martin Zeil, Bavarian minister for economic affairs, infrastructure, transport and technology and acting first minister of Bavaria, who awarded Ultrasone AG employees with the accolade last Friday.
“A significant part of our future lies in exports”, said Michael Zirkel who is Ultrasone AG COO in charge of exports. “German products have an extremely good reputation, particularly abroad. This having been said, it is of course also up to us to consistently prove this reputation through research and premium manufacturing.” Since it was founded, Ultrasone has systematically developed to become a renowned headphone manufacturer with international prestige. The company holds in excess of 60 patents in the headphone technology sector. In Asia and the USA in particular, the company’s Edition range is much-loved by hifi enthusiasts. The headphones, which bear the mark “Handmade in Bavaria”, impress such customers with their room-filling sound and resonant bass. However, Germany too raves about the headphones made on the banks of Lake Starnberg. Ultrasone Edition models rank in the best list of the renowned Stereoplay magazine in the categories “closed headphones” and “open headphones”. These high-end headphones not only set technical but also visual standards, and are hand-crafted works of art. The hard-wearing headphone shells are coated with ruthenium, an extremely rare metal, second-lightest of the platinum group metals after palladium. The timeless design of the headphones is underlined by the ebony inset detailing.
Numerous Ultrasone headphones – from entry-level to high-end – benefit from the company’s patented S-Logic technology. The decentralised arrangement of the transducers provides unprecedented surround sound quality. Deeply defined bass, brilliant silky treble not to mention superior stereo localisation and excellent stereo depth perception have been attested to in numerous tests by renowned specialist media. S-Logic also stands for fatigue-free listening. The technology protects the human ear by facilitating a 3-4 decibel decrease without giving the impression that the volume has been lowered. All Ultrasone headphones from the highly portable entry level models right through to the quality manufactured high-end headphones are equipped with S-Logic.
