There was a lot of new activity in the headphone market in 2024. As examples, the companies Beyerdynamic, Sony, and ULTRASONE introduced the following new headphone models:
Beyerdynamic presented three new models at IFA 2024:
The Amiron 100, an in-ear headphone with Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), Bluetooth 5.3, and a battery life of up to 8 hours (27 hours with the charging case). It supports modern codecs such as LC3, AAC, and SBC. The price is 179 euros.
The Amiron 300: this in-ear headphone offers high-resolution sound thanks to 10 mm drivers and supports codecs such as LDAC, AAC, and SBC. With ANC and a battery life of up to 10 hours (40 hours with the charging case), it is available for 249 euros.
And finally the Aventho 300, an over-ear headphone with adaptive ANC, Bluetooth 5.4, and an impressive battery life of up to 50 hours. It supports Dolby Atmos with Dolby Head Tracking technology for an immersive listening experience. The price is 399 euros.
Sony presented the WH-ULT900N as an over-ear headphone with a special focus on powerful bass reproduction. The model was announced in white, black, and gray for 199 euros. However, it now costs only 119 euros.
The spectacularly advertised WH-1000XM5 with AI support is also now available with a discount of more than 33%.
ULTRASONE, traditionally known for stable pricing, introduced a whole range of new products. In the high-end segment, the Founders Series is attracting attention, available in a limited edition for 2,222 euros. The Signature series has been completely redesigned and can now be operated in balanced mode across all models, which significantly improves spatial sound reproduction and detail resolution. In the price range between 189 and 699 euros, customers can choose which sound suits them best. In total, there are four models available: Signature PURE white, Signature FUSION, Signature FUSION open back, and Signature MASTER MkII.
My opinion on this:
First of all, it was a very good and exciting year for us. Many things have been improved and renewed, and the product range now appears modern and well structured. There are still a few remaining units of other products on the website, but the inventory does not suggest that any special promotions are likely.
