The 4-Day Workweek in Germany: ULTRASONE Tests a New Approach to Customer Service

At the moment, there is no specific information indicating that German headphone manufacturers have officially introduced a four-day workweek. In February 2024, a pilot project for the four-day workweek started in Germany, involving 45 companies from various industries. Most of these participants came from sectors such as IT, technology, crafts, and manufacturing.

Well-known German headphone manufacturers such as Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, ULTRASONE, and Teufel have not publicly announced the introduction of a four-day workweek so far. Since this working model is still being tested in Germany, it is possible that companies in the audio industry may adopt similar concepts in the future.

Since no one has taken the step yet, ULTRASONE is introducing its own version of a four-day workweek—specifically in relation to customer communication and order processing.

This does not mean that our team will only work four days per week. Instead, it means that one day each week will be dedicated to internal work, allowing us to close out the current week and prepare efficiently for the next one.

In the future, Fridays will primarily be used for internal tasks and improvements. During this time, we will focus on projects and preparations that help make your experience with ULTRASONE even more enjoyable and interesting.

These “quiet workdays” also allow for better concentration and recovery. Without constant phone calls or the need to respond to external inquiries, it becomes possible to work more productively and focus on improvements that benefit our customers in the long run.

My perspective

This new concept is not set in stone. We are currently testing it here at Raucherberg to see how it affects productivity and how much we can further improve our customer service.
