In direct conversations with users, the DT770 always comes up—it is a standard tool that people neither consider particularly good nor bad because it is simply present everywhere. What is repeatedly emphasized, however, is that you can put the headphones on however you like without worrying about the fit, because they always work.
And this is exactly where I became attentive. Is it more important that the headphones can be put on quickly, or that they deliver perfect sound?
Of course, the DT770 sounds reliably good and has remained essentially the same for what feels like an eternity—but is that still enough today?
Shouldn’t listening fatigue, sound pressure levels, comfort, and weight be given just as much importance as sound quality?
