The Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition introduces several notable improvements compared to earlier models. It is equipped with the new STELLAR.45 driver, which offers a wide frequency response from 5 Hz to 40 kHz. These drivers deliver a more precise sound image with low distortion, even at higher listening levels.

Another important upgrade is the detachable cable with a mini-XLR connector, which increases both flexibility and longevity.

In addition, wearing comfort has been improved through the use of memory foam in the headband and the integration of a special relief area for pressure-sensitive parts of the head. This ensures that the headphones remain comfortable even during long sessions.

My opinion on this:

First of all, congratulations to Beyerdynamic in Heilbronn on their 100th anniversary. That is quite an achievement.

And it is certainly an impressive model they have created.

BUT—when I compare it with our ULTRASONE Signature PURE, I do start to wonder.

A €60 higher price for essentially the same sound, a detachable cable—which, to be fair, was long overdue—and finally a headband concept comparable to our FGC technology with controlled pressure distribution, which we have already been using in all our Signature models for about a year.

In practical terms, this means the Beyerdynamic now comes with comparable technology yet costs €30 more than our PURE, while still not including a proper case—unlike the softly padded pouch that comes with our headphones.

So next time someone claims our products are too expensive, perhaps it’s worth taking another look!
