ULTRASONE S-Logic or Dolby Atmos? What are the differences between the two approaches?

S-LOGIC and Dolby Atmos are two different technologies designed to enhance the listening experience, each following its own approach:

S-LOGIC by ULTRASONE is a headphone technology based on the positioning of the drivers within the earcups. It uses a decentralized arrangement of the drivers to reflect sound onto the outer ear. This creates a more spatial sound image that is closer to natural hearing.

Both technologies provide impressive listening experiences, but with different focuses and target audiences.

My opinion on this:

Dolby Atmos has had several predecessors that attempted to create spatial sound for headphones. I still remember a conversation with the Dolby CTO about S-LOGIC and the different technological approaches. He was very fascinated by how we can generate such a natural spatial sound image purely on an acoustic basis.

We, on the other hand, think it is great that companies are addressing the challenges of headphone acoustics at all. We are pleased that most of these technologies sound even better with our headphones, because we provide the interface to your individual and personal ear—and that interface must be addressed as precisely as possible.

Therefore: the more technologies like Dolby Atmos, the better—and for the final touch, add our S-LOGIC.
