Favorite headphones: Just one pair, or all of them from a brand like Focal or ULTRASONE? Or a mix of everything?

Focal certainly has many devoted fans—but whether they receive messages like this as a note with an order?

Secondly (which I would have liked to say first, but it is a bit long and I did not want to bore you), in my opinion nothing compares to ULTRASONE quality.

I find it interesting that I was born the same year the company was founded. During my freshman year of university, I researched some high-quality closed-back headphones (so as not to disturb my roommates) and ended up buying a pair of ULTRASONE Pro 550s (unfortunately not directly from ULTRASONE). They got me through university, they came with me when I lived in Japan for five years, and they accompanied me on many of my travels.

They have brought me so much enjoyment—bringing my video games to life and making every movie I watched more immersive. Most memorable of all were the hours I spent sitting or lying in a dark room, completely engulfed in music (and sometimes just ambient sounds).

Maybe my music is not to your taste, but regardless of what I listened to, it was always a pleasure to melt away and float with the sounds my ULTRASONEs provided. The sense of peace they created is unparalleled.

In the nearly 15 years that I have owned my pair, I accidentally broke the headband and had them repaired by a third party. I have also replaced the ear pads a few times (buying directly from ULTRASONE whenever possible), and sometimes even “Frankenstein-fixed” them myself by gluing pads onto the quick-change backs.

Only recently have my headphones begun to stop working as well, and I realized it was finally time to buy a new pair. Of course, over the years I have tried other brands.

But for me, nothing has come close—something always felt missing. And what better option than buying a new pair from my favorite brand, created and built by the founder Michael Willberg.

I am always up for a surprise. And if the aforementioned offer is still valid, they may even end up becoming a Christmas gift for my audiophile father.

Many thanks to Bernadette in the USA for such loyalty to the brand and for such kind words. Messages like this are one of the reasons why this work still brings me so much joy—even after 25 years.

And Bernadette demonstrates it perfectly: not just one pair, but several—and ideally all from ULTRASONE—thanks to our remarkable S-Logic sound system.
