Who Is LaBrassBanda?
LaBrassBanda is a Bavarian brass band from Übersee at Lake Chiemsee, founded in 2007 by Stefan Dettl, Andreas Hofmeir, Manuel Winbeck, Oliver Wrage, and Manuel da Coll.
The band’s name is a wordplay combining the Italian term “la banda” with the English phrase “brass band.” Translated into German, it essentially means “Blasmusikkapelle.”
Musically, LaBrassBanda blends traditional Bavarian brass music with modern genres such as:
Ska
Punk
Reggae
Techno
Funk
The band describes its own sound as “Bavarian Gypsy Brass” or “Alpine Jazz Techno.”
Most lyrics are written in Bavarian dialect and often revolve around themes such as beer, celebration, and life in Bavaria.
Authentic Performances and Unique Style
LaBrassBanda is widely known for its unconventional stage presence. The musicians typically perform barefoot and wearing traditional Lederhosen, while intentionally avoiding elaborate stage productions.
This authenticity and raw musical energy have helped the band build a strong and loyal international fanbase.
International Success and Touring
Since their formation, LaBrassBanda has performed more than 1,100 concerts worldwide, including appearances at major international festivals such as:
Roskilde Festival (Denmark)
Harare International Festival of Arts (Zimbabwe)
Sziget Festival (Budapest)
In 2009, the band was also invited by the Goethe-Institut to tour across Russia.

ULTRASONE and LaBrassBanda
LaBrassBanda first visited ULTRASONE in 2014, where they enthusiastically tested the then brand-new IQ in-ear monitors.
Their experience using the earphones during live performances on stage eventually led to the development of customized IQ-PRO in-ears, adapted specifically to the band’s requirements.
One particularly memorable moment was LaBrassBanda’s performance during their Bierzelttour at the ULTRASONE Summer Festival on the Raucherberg. For guests and journalists alike, the concert remains unforgettable.
More recently, the band also gave very positive feedback on the Signature PURE headphones, and we are already looking forward to meeting them again soon.

Stefan Dettl and LaBrassBanda are a wonderful example of the incredible people you meet in the music world.
Their agreement to perform at our event on the Raucherberg was as spontaneous as the traditional Weißwurst breakfast we shared together there. Every time we meet, it is always a genuine pleasure.
With their natural, friendly, and down-to-earth attitude, they perfectly embody what true stars in the music industry should be.
